This simple fact hit home for film festival programmer Jeff Howard during the festival Film Invasion Los Angeles in 2020, when he realized that a handful of his favorite films in that festival would be amazing stoned. Considering that marijuana is perfectly legal for adults over 21 in California, soon after the idea for THCcinema was born it had to be put into action.
Thanks to a few discussion with friends, the team behind THCcinema realized a monthly movie night would be even more fun than an annual festival.
THCcinema Movie Night was born!
